Breathless Sparkling Wines
Miss Kelly likes her sparkling wine on occasion so we set out to find some sparkling winemakers in Sonoma County. We found Breathless in a little industrial park in Healdsburg, just a couple blocks from Willi’s Raw Oyster Bar, our go-to lunch stop in this quaint city.
They had a nice outdoor area that has an interesting feel since the building has a shipping container style for tasting and as it was a beautiful day that’s what we did.
These were really good wines! This was just what we were looking for-a nice boutique shop with great wines.
We took several bottles home and this one already met it’s end. Miss Kelly enjoyed this over the weekend with the perfect stopper that let it keep the bubbles.
Edit: Had to head south again and decided one more wine club membership couldn’t hurt so we signed up! You get to pick your delivery months which is unusual. This should keep the bubbly section of the wine cellar complete.
When we stopped in the second time it was 113 degrees in Healdsburg! We availed ourselves of their indoor tasting experience. We also took some notes on the wines.
Quirky and elegant is the description for this place. We especially loved the Peacock table.
Here was the menu. Suffice it to say that all these wines are delicate and subtle.
Blanc de Blanc – Peaches, peaches, peaches.
Brut – Delicate for a Brut with dry characteristics but not staunchy or severe.
Blanc de Noir – Peaches and bubbles. What more could you ask for?
Brut Rose – Strawberries in nose and mouth.
Moscato – Pineapple upside down baked good. Snickerdoodle. Apricot tart.
We highly recommend this winery!
