Iron Horse
Our search for Sparkling Wines brought us to Iron Horse. Off the road a ways on a gravel drive, this is a popular winery with several tasting stations. Kelly had the sparkling wine flight while I had the still wines.
All the wines we had here were good but the sparkling wines are their forte. They were all very light with a flavor range from somewhat sweet to quite dry. The Summer’s Cuvee, only available at the tasting room, has just the right balance of sweet and acid. The tasting facility sits on a hilltop with great views of grapes everywhere.
This was a good stop and we’ll probably be back. Suggest you make reservations but they will accommodate regardless.
Once home we had the Iron Horse Brut on a sunny weekend. Full flavored and very dry as the name would imply. Quite delicious.
