Black Rooster Farm
We found Black Rooster Farm at the Ali’i Marketplace. This is an interesting coffee, roasted just a slight bit darker than most of the medium roasts we have run into. We really enjoyed the flavor of this coffee, forward minerality with a fuller body and a bit of chocolate. We can’t find much information online about this farm but from the taste we are guessing it is grown on Hualalai Mauka somewhere.
These are nice looking beans. You can see the roast is a bit uneven, with some beans darker than medium. The end result is a very pleasant cup of coffee.
Another nice feature of the Black Rooster Farm coffee is the packaging. This came in a vacuum sealed, resealable bag. This is a good thing when you are on vacation and don’t have any way to store your beans from day to day.
We found this coffee at the Ali’i Marketplace, south of Kailua-Kona n Ali’i Drive. We don’t know if that is a regular or ongoing thing so you might check in with them first. Their emil address is on the bag!
