Solo Piano Interpretations
Stormy Weather
Stormy Weather brings together many of the musical influences that have shaped Matthew Cook’s playing, ranging from Gershwin’s Someone to Watch Over Me to the Beatles’ Dear Prudence.
The album opens with Our Day Will Come, a song Matthew learned for a fan who especially wanted to hear him play it.
Another highlight is Corcovado, his solo piano interpretation of the beautiful Antônio Carlos Jobim tune.
