Cesar Toxqui Cellars
A great find in Hopland, California – Mendocino County, just north of Sonoma, is Toxqui Cellars (pronounced toe-ski). Cesar Toxqui loves the land and the process of winemaking in tune with nature. He times parts of his process by the cycles of the moon and makes a really beautiful, totally organic wine.
This is a nicely full flavored Sauvignon Blanc. It’s citrus, it’s light, it has a little bit of vanilla melon before it leaves with a sticky cantaloupe finish. The Nose – Honeydew Vanilla Caramel.
The 100 Year Old Vine Zinfandel is fantastic. Cherry Caramel Plum jam with a nice tingly alcohol. No surprise at 15.1 percent.
